Aracy Esteve Gomes
1923 - Santo Antônio de Jesus, Bahia
During his childhood, her father was working in a darkroom with glass plates. She graduated in Mathematics at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBa). After graduation, she taught for 43 years and bought her first camera. In Salvador, set up her first laboratory. Began photographing the city with subtle frameworks and humorous scenes. In the following years, registered characters and scenes of everyday life in family farms in Bahia. Her photographs are part of the Collection José Esteve and Aracy Esteve Gomes, private collection that brings together a set of images preserved for decades, the result of affective creation between father and daughter.
