29/08/2018. O ribeirinho Leonardo Batista visita restos da casa de seu irmão em ilha do Xingu, perto de Altamira, inundada pela represa de Belo Monte em agosto. Ele ganhava a vida com a pesca e com as mangueiras, que agora estão todas mortas. O irmão conseguiu se reassentar e voltou a morar nas margens do rio Xingu com outras 121 famílias. Os ribeirinhos acabaram formando um conselho que luta pelo direito de voltar ao rio Xingu e ao seu modo de vida tradicional.English version:

08/29/2018. The riverbank dweller Leonardo Batista visits the remains of his brother's house on an Xingu island near Altamira, which was flooded by Belo Monte's reservoir in august. He made a living off fishing and from the mango trees, that are now all dead. The brother was able to resettled and returned to live on the banks of the Xingu River with 121 other families. The river people ended up forming a council that fights for the right to return to the Xingu River and to their traditional way of life.
