ALTAMIRA, PA, Brasil. 01/09/2013. Caos na festa dos trabalhadores da barragem de Belo Monte na margem do rio em Altamira. Com uma multidão de homens bêbados para cortejar as poucas mulheres disponíveis, muitas vezes as festas terminam em violência e brigas com faca. A construção da hidrelétrica de Belo Monte criou a maior onda de migração no Brasil nos últimos anos. No pico da construção da fábrica, no início de 2015, os locais abrigavam mais de 25mil trabalhadores da construção, 70% de outras regiões do país. 87% homens.

ALTAMIRA, PA, Brazil. 09/01/2013. A party of the workers of Belo Monte dam on the river bank in Altamira. On the last weekend of the month when the workers received their salary, Altamira became a chaotic mess. With a crowd of drunk men seeking to court the few available women, it took very little to rise to a knife fight. Construction of the Belo Monte hydroelectric dam created the greatest wave of migration in Brazil in recent years. Thousands headed to Altamira in the heart of the Amazon. At the peak of the construction for the plant at the beginning of 2015, the sites housed more than 25,000 construction workers, 70 percent of which were from other parts of the country. 87 percent of them were men.
