ALTAMIRA, PA, Brasil, 06/04/2013. Índios Mundurukus fazem fila para embarcar em avião no aeroporto de Altamira após protestarem contra a construção da barragem de Belo Monte no rio Xingu. Os Mundurukus habitam as margens do rio Tapajós, onde o governo tem planos de construir novos projetos hidrelétricos. Mesmo após a pressão de indígenas, ambientalistas e organizações não governamentais, o projeto Belo Monte foi construído e concluído cinco anos depois, em 2019.

The Mundurukus inhabit the banks of the Tapajós River, where the government has plans to build new hydroelectric projects. Even after counter pressure from indigenous people, environmentalists and non-governmental organizations, the Belo Monte project was built and completed five years later, in 2019.
